The Kia Sportage carries over into 2022 with a couple changes the Nightfall trim replaces the S trim and a sunroof has been added as standard equipment to the EX trim.

The Kia Sportage continues into 2020 with some welcome updates. The biggest addition coming in the form of an available 8-inch infotainment system and Apple Carplay/Android Auto as standard equipment on all trims. Driver condition monitor and forward collision warning with pedestrian detection are also now standard across the board.

The Kia Sportage continues into 2019 mostly unchanged, though a few of the options and packages have seen some minor shuffling. The biggest change is the deletion of the technology package, which is no longer available for 2019.

The Kia Sportage was all-new for 2017 so predictably this year it's mostly carried over from its extensive redesign last year. Notably the base model LX can now be equipped with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear traffic alert and outside turn signals as a part of Kia's Technology Package. This luxury now comes standard on all EX and SX models.

The Kia Sportage is all-new for 2017. The compact SUV features all-new styling, riding atop a completely redesigned chassis. The new platform promises to add more space, a stiffer chassis and more comfort than ever before. A redesigned front suspension goes a long way towards improving the ride without compromising handling, while a revised transmission improves shift quality. Virtually nothing has been carried over from last year's car, though the basic styling language remains intact, with smooth, sophisticated lines and a refreshing simplicity that is often absent in the overwrought styling of most cars these days.

The EX and SX now come with standard leather seats. And there was some other equipment shuffling, but for the most part, the 2016 Sportage is about the same as the outgoing model.

Kia has improved the interior in a few minor ways for all 2015 Sportages, making things a little more intuitive. In addition, SX trimmed Sportages now come standard with a navigation system, power folding exterior mirrors and a push button start.

For 2014, the Kia Sportage has an improved direct-injection 2.4L engine, which increases power output from 176 to 182 horsepower. The base trim goes away, leaving only LX, EX and SX models. New high-performance dampers, which improve handling and ride quality, are standard, as is rear ventilation, while an Infinity audio system, HID headlights, LED taillights and a new navigation system are available. A new front grille and new wheel designs round out the changes.

The Kia Sportage gets only a few changes for 2013. Power folding mirrors are now standard across all trims while EX and LX models get new LED accent lights. The SX also gets lighting improvements with LED daytime running lights. Also new for 2013 is a funky blue interior package for EX models featuring blue cloth seats and a black headliner.

The Sportage was redesigned in 2011, so the 2012 version doesn't change too much. The LX now features slightly larger 17-inch wheels and the EX and SX models feature a premium audio system with HD radio and a subwoofer as well as the new UVO in-dash infotainment system.

The Sportage isn't a new name, but Kia's compact crossover utility vehicle is completely new for 2011, with more of an emphasis on interior space and style, along with some innovative new connectivity features. The new Sportage has a sleeker shape, along with a dramatically upgraded cabin, plus a new, powerful 270-hp turbo four in a sporty SX model. Also, the new 176-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that's standard on the Sportage has more power and better fuel economy than last year's optional V6.

Since the Sportage got a facelift for 2009, there weren't very many changes to make for 2010. It has an EcoMinder in the dash to tell drivers when their habits are helping with fuel efficiency. An optional back-up warning system is now available as well.
