Rivian R1S Model Years and History

The Rivian adds multiple technology and software updates, starting with standard NACS charging ports, and software update 2026.03 which adds Launch mode on the first generation models and models with a dual-motor setup; as well as better throttle response and a new ride-height feature which allows the driver to set their own suspension height. A new dark package comes standard with the Tri and Quad motor trims which have also been brought back to life after a slight discontinuation, and available as an option on the Dual Large and Dual Max trims. Visually, the R1S remains unchanged.
