For the 2009 Pontiac Torrent, XM satellite radio and a digital compass in the Driver Information Center are standard on all models, as are dual-stage frontal and head curtain side-impact air bags. Bluetooth hands-free connectivity is now available.

For 2008 the Pontiac Torrent has 2 new models, the GXP in a Front Wheel Drive and an All Wheel Drive. The GXP comes with a 3.6L V6 VVT engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, 18" tires and aluminum wheels, hydraulic power steering and performance tuned suspension as standard. Also for 2008, Stabilitrak comes with an integrated electronic sway control, a compass is now standard with the Driver Information Center and there is an optional chrome package. Deep Blue Metallic, Teal Metallic and Carbon Black Metallic are three new colors available on the 2008 Torrent.

The Pontiac Torrent was introduced in 2006, but the 2007 model still sees plenty of changes. The interior is slightly reworked, the sound systems now have an auxiliary input jack, and the upgraded CD player can handle MP3 files. An alarm system is now standard issue, and a new DVD entertainment system and navigation system are optional, as is remote start. A number of new wheels can be ordered to help personalize the Torrent. On the safety front, the Torrent trades its rear drums for rear discs, and StabiliTrak is now standard. Like most of the GM lineup, a tire pressure monitoring system is now included. A rollover sensor has been added to the optional side curtain air bags.
