SelectBrowse ListingsIn the same year as an all-new Sierra 2500HD was introduced, GMC continued to allow customers a chance to purchase the previous generation vehicle. The first generation GMC Sierra 2500HD became the Sierra 2500HD Classic in 2007 based on the tried and true GMT800 frame. Essentially the same vehicle as the 2006 Sierra 2500HD, the GMC Sierra 2500HD Classic came with three cabin styles as well as the choice of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Gasoline engine power came from a 6.0-liter V-8 and 8.1-liter V-8 from the Vortec family while diesel propulsion was available with a 6.6-liter Duramax powerplant. Depending on the engine, a five-speed manual, six-speed manual, four-speed automatic and a six-speed automatic transmission was obtainable on the Sierra 2500HD Classic pickup truck range. Operating with a maximum payload capacity of 4,058 pounds, up to 12,000 pounds can be pulled under conventional towing. The GMC Sierra 2500HD Classic was sold for only one year before it was discontinued.
