Ford EcoSport Model Years and History

For 2022, the EcoSport is only available in the all-wheel drive model, it otherwise carries over with minimal changes.

For 2021, the EcoSport receives only minor changes which include exterior colors choices and wheel options. Also, the windshield loses the acoustic element from previous years and is now just laminated and the interior loses the illuminated glove box and the illuminated driver and passenger vanity mirrors.

The Ford EcoSport is a brand-new model for Ford which slots in at the bottom of their SUV and crossover lineup. The EcoSport aims to combine the compact footprint of a subcompact car with the extra space, taller seating position and ruggedness of an SUV. With a bit more versatility than the average small car, the EcoSport is a strong entry into the growing compact crossover segment.

The 2019 Ford EcoSport does not see any major changes from the prior model year. The SES trim will now feature a black appearance package that provides black exterior trim accents.

The Ford EcoSport is a brand new vehicle, slotting in below the escape at the bottom of Ford's SUV lineup. While the escape is the rough SUV equivalent to a compact car, the new EcoSport fills in the open niche of subcompact SUV. It's an interesting vehicle class that has not been experimented with very much in the United States, but Ford is confident that buyers will find plenty to like about the new diminutive little SUV.
