The Audi Q5 and SQ5 carry over into 2020 mostly unchanged, though some of the equipment packages have been updated and changed. Most notably, a new Convenience Plus Package adds wireless charging, a signal booster and parking sensors for the front and rear bumpers. All-wheel drive continues to be standard, though the base engine has been given a redesign and now makes significantly more power and torque than the one it replaces. Given these improvements, it's a good bet the Audi Q5 continues to be one of the German marque's top selling vehicles.

The 3.0T Prestige model now features a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, plus Audi drive select and adaptive cruise control. Q5 2.0T Premium models now feature 19-inch alloy wheels, while the 3.0 SQ5 comes standard with dynamic steering and offers a Black Optic Plus Package, with matte black rear diffuser and gloss black rear spoiler, door handles and exterior mirror housings.

The turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder carries over, while a 272-hp supercharged 3.0L V6 replaces the naturally aspirated 3.2L V6. A hybrid drivetrain is also new, which utilizes the Q5's standard 2.0L turbo and an electric motor to produce 245 hp and 354-ft-lb of torque. EPA estimates peg the hybrid's return at 24 mpg city, 30 mpg highway. All Q5s now benefit from an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Q5 hybrid starts at $51,795.

For 2011, the Audi Q5 gets two new models featuring a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine; this new engine has a higher peak torque rating than the existing V6, while simultaneously being much more fuel-efficient. This engine comes connected to a new 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission.

Since the Q5 was a new model in 2009, there were few changes made for the 2010 model year. Most of the new offerings are features rather than necessities -- the 3.2-liter V6 remains the same. But there are new interior wood inlays to choose from and a new indirect tire pressure monitoring system.

The Audi Q5 is brand new for 2009, designed as a crossover vehicle to appeal to buyers who want the economy of a sedan with the power of a sport utility vehicle. The Q5 uses the same platform as the Audi A4 sedans and Audi A5 coupes. It is a smaller version of the Q7, Audi's first SUV. It is often compared to the BMW X3, the Acura RDX and the Land Rover LR2.
