The Audi A4 45 S Line Premium trims gets a sport suspension as standard equipment and adds an optional Black Optic package for the 40 Premium trim, while the S4 and A4 Allroad carry over with minimal changes for 2022.

After an extensive facelift in 2020, the Audi A4 lineup returns for 2021 with a 12-volt hybrid system, increased horsepower for both versions of the 2L turbocharged engine, and more standard equipment including all-wheel drive.

The Audi A4 line gets several major changes for the 2020 model year. Exterior styling has been improved with a revised grille, less angular headlights and more pronounced wheel arches. The result is a smoother looking car that somehow looks more muscular as well. The interior has also been revised, with a new 10.1-inch touchscreen and Audi's MIB 3 infotainment suite. Audi claims that MIB 3 is up to ten times faster than the MIB 2 infotainment system on older models. LED headlights are also standard across the entire model line for 2020.

The Audi A4 has subtle updates to its front and rear fascias, but it is otherwise unchanged.

After a full redesign last year, the Audi allroad returns for 2018 with a few new standard features. Heated seats now come with the car no matter the trim level, while those opting for the Premium Plus trim now get a blind spot monitoring system. Top of the line Prestige models have also been given more standard equipment; they come with adaptive cruise control, a lane departure warning system and automatic high beams.
