The Rapide evolved to become the Rapide S having received a more assertive appearance and greater performance. The Aston Martin's Rapide S' all-new AM11 V-12 engine greatly increases the power potential over its predecessor. The V-12 engine's 550 horsepower and connection to a Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic transmission can launch the four-door sports car from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 4.9 seconds. Aside from the power improvements for 2014, the Rapide S was upgraded with more aggressive aerodynamics revealed by a refined front end. Inside the finely handcrafted cabin of the 2014 Aston Martin Rapide S better noise and vibration reduction is present. For 2015, the six-speed automatic has been replaced by a smoother Touchtronic III eight-speed automatic transmission.
