Debuting for the 2016 model year in the United States, the McLaren 570S represented new entry-level vehicle for the motorsport-inspired sports car builder. Boasting a price tag more than $90,000 less than the McLaren 650S, the reduced cost for the mid-engined 570S has not resulted in any major diminishing of high-class performance. Propelled by a detuned version of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 engine used with the 650S, the 562-horsepower and 443 pound-feet influencing the McLaren 570S is channeled through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Acceleration times from 0 to 60 miles per hour in the supercar is rated at 3.1 seconds. Differing from the higher-priced McLaren model, the 570S supercar does not employ active aerodynamic components leaving the body in a traditional sport appearance. Unique front air dam and side ducts successfully define the McLaren 570S' style. Retained in a carbon fiber MonoCell II structure, the occupant compartment of the 570S features a TFT instrument cluster for the driver and a McLaren IRIS infotainment system for the passenger to ride in comfort. The addition to the hardtop model, an open-top Spider version of the McLaren 570S is expected for 2018. A power retractable hardtop incorporated on the 570S Spider is advertised to open or close in 15 seconds.
