The automaker’s van lineup sees some modest cosmetic and under-the-hood upgrades for this model year. The ProMaster cargo van keeps the 280-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 engine with six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive on the base build but drops the diesel option. Performance enhancements take its maximum payload to 4,680 pounds with a 5,100-pound towing capacity. The front gets some restyling with a new silver grille that gives it a more contemporary look and complements its three-part fascia. Standard features are electronic stability, front airbags, a backup camera, and two USB ports. The manufacturer adds some newly available amenities including swivel front seats, uConnect with navigation and voice activation, remote engine start, Bluetooth, rear park assist, and hands-free calling along with four optional packages. The ProMaster City remains unchanged stylistically with minor tweaks in the powertrain to boost performance. The van continues to stand out for its plethora of customization options.
