Strong set of V8 engines; seats up to 15; tough truck-like construction; high towing and weight ratings; available diesel engine; available all-wheel drive
As Chevrolet placed emphasis on updating its most prized sedans, SUVs, and trucks for the 2018 model year, its vans seemed to take a back seat, although they each welcomed a few minor changes. The City Express, Chevy’s compact work van that’s optimal for city drivers, receives hands-free Bluetooth connectivity and a standard rearview camera across its two trim levels. Still included in the City Express are its four-cylinder engine and several add-on options like a navigation system and deep-tinted rear privacy glass. Both the Express Van 2500 and 3500 get a new standard V6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission for up to 10,000 pounds of towing power. Both vans still have two other engine options – a 6.0-liter V8 and a 2.8-liter turbodiesel – and come in three trim levels with standard features like power locks and windows, vinyl seating, and air conditioning. The Express Van lineup also gets a newly-standard rearview camera for 2018.
