The wide range of the BMW performance scale is being accommodated by all-ne w models in 2017. After a three-year wait, the BMW 2 Series receives a full-fledged M performance variant. The 2017 BMW M2 is propelled by a 365-horsepower and can be matched with a model exclusive seven-speed dual-clutch transmission allowing the vehicle to achieve 0 to 60-mile per hour acceleration in 4.1 seconds. More premium performance through the flagship 7 Series is highlighted by two all-new models consisting of the 600-horsepower Alpina B7 xDrive and the 601-horsepower M760i xDrive. The 2 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series and X4 receive updated engines resulting in a mild horsepower gain for some models. On 2017 model year X3 and 6 Series, Wi-Fi hotspot is now standard equipment. For 2017, the compact, efficiently engineered BMW i3 has been presented with some major updates. Thanks to a higher capacity battery in the 2017 BMW i3, the electric-only driving range is extended to 114 miles. With the optional gasoline-powered range extender, buyers of the i3 will realize additional travel potential from the new, larger 2.4-gallon fuel tank. The BMW Z4 has been discontinued for the 2017 as anticipation builds for the vehicle's successor.
