The CDR audio system in your Cayman features a seven-inch color monitor that also acts as a touchscreen giving you easy access to the most important functions and menus. An optional Bose Surround Sound System comprises eight amplifier channels with a total output of 445 watts. The Bose AudioPilot noise compensation technology uses a microphone to continuously measure the ambient noise inside the vehicle and adapts music playback instantly and automatically for a faithfully reproduced sound and an amazing acoustic experience.
Like every Porsche the new Cayman employs safety concepts and components that are just as performance-oriented as engine. To protect you and your passengers the new Cayman models come standard with full-size airbags. In addition to the central airbag control Unit a pair of impact sensors is located near the headlights. This allows a crash to be detected far sooner for a quicker response. Both new Cayman models are equipped with the Porsche Side Impact Protection system ensuring excellent protection in the event of a side impact.
The Cayman models are powered by compact mid-mounted boxer engines positioned just 12 inches behind you for incredibly balanced handling. The Cayman model is equipped with a 2.7-liter flat-six engine with Direct Fuel Injection and VarioCam Plus. It develops 275 horsepower at 7400 rpm. The new Cayman S gets its sportiness from a 3.4-liter flat-six engine with Direct Fuel Injection and VarioCam Plus. It produces 325 horespower at 7400 rpm.
