For 2015, Mercedes-Benz began the year by issuing a brand new compact crossover SUV, the GLA-Class. They followed that by updating the SLK with a new no-cost painted roof option. The SL fleet got a more powerful V6 engine, with limited-slip rear differential being made a standard feature. All M-Class vehicles boasted improved fuel efficiency, found in the form of a diesel engine or a turbo-boosted V6 and stop-start technology. A beefy and turbocharged V6 engine was added to the GL450 as was the stop-start technology. E400s got a new turbocharged V6 engine, while the CLS-Class was restyled. Finally, the popular CLA-Class was updated with standard sport suspension, two-zone climate control, remote start and keyless access.
