2009 Chrysler Ratings, Reviews and Awards

Chrysler's Aspen stole the spotlight in 2009 with an electrified drivetrain and HEMI V8 engine. As the company's first hybrid, this luxury SVU managed 25% better fuel economy in the city thanks to a two-mode hybrid transmission co-developed with General Motors and BMW. Pushing the boundaries of standard safety features, Chrysler included updated braking systems on their Town & Country line as well as Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path systems and Smartbeam headlights. The Town & Country line of minivans also new Stow n' Go seating for added storage space. Chrysler's line of sedans now held more power with their 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engines but also saw the Pacifica and Crossfire drop from the lineup. Chrysler's favored Sebring also lost its all-wheel drive feature. The PT Cruiser was also dropped in 2009, leaving retro buyers the original wagon body style to choose from in Chrysler's compact line.
