Mazda Ratings, Reviews and Awards
Mazda’s 2018 lineup of economic yet powerful vehicles has been updated in a handful of ways from prior year models. The Mazda3 4-door Sport series now has Mazda’s SKYACTIV engine efficiency system, which allows its 2.0L 4-cylinder 155 hp engine to achieve 41 mpg on the highway. The Mazda3 can also now be purchased in manual transmission for drivers who want an extra challenge. Mazda’s CX-3 FWD SUV two-door is updated with a gasoline direct injection system that allows the engine to exert 146 hp at 6000 rpm and 146 lb-ft of torque at 2800 rpm. The engine itself is a 2.0L with 122 hp, which gives the engine a bit more power. Mazda’s legendary MX-5 Miata convertible returns yet again in 2018, bringing improved fuel economy with its I-4 2.0L 122 hp engine. The Miata’s body has been streamlined at the rear wheel wells for added airflow.
