The SSR was built on a modified version of the GMT360 platform shared with the contemporary TrailBlazer SUV, and its styling was inspired by the Chevrolet Advance Design family of trucks. Additional features include flush-mounted halogen headlights bisected by a satin-finished chevron bar as well as flush-mounted taillights, power-operated heated side mirrors, integrated body-color running boards, a trailer hitch, and dual polished exhaust tips.
