2017 smart fortwo trims

2017 fortwo

For 2017 the smart fortwo gets a convertible body style called the Cabrio to complement the existing coupe. They have also added the Smart Electric Drive that can be ordered as a Coupe or Cabrio. The Brabus sport package was added and all models with fog lights will now come with cornering lights as well. It's still a tiny, 2-seat, urban, city car that does its best work in crowded streets where parking is scarce. A new, more powerful turbocharged engine gives the fortwo a bit more oomph for those occasional trips onto the freeway, while a redesigned interior innovates and makes the most of the space that is available.

2010 smart fortwo trims

2010 fortwo

There's not much room for change in the 2010 Smart fortwo, being that it's the smallest, shortest car for sale in the U.S. Surprisingly, there is room for a driver up to six feet, eight inches. It's still available in the base-level Pure coupe and the better-equipped Passion as a coupe or convertible, plus the performance edition by Brabus. An electric version of the car will be sold in small numbers in limited markets starting this summer, but large-scale production won't happen until 2012.

According to Smart, the new models feature slightly more interior space, adding that the car's two seats are now more comfortable. Door nets replace solid storage areas on the driver and passenger doors. The front fascia has been redesigned to meet new pedestrian safety regulations. Two new exterior colors are available: sporty rally red and elegant gray metallic. Light yellow and red metallic have been discontinued. Also standard is a "loose gas cap" indicator.

About fortwo

In 2008, Smart Fortwo released an all-new brand and vehicle in the U.S., a miniature two-seat car that was available at select dealerships. In 2009, a new sport trim was added and flexible door storage nets were made standard. New options were introduced for 2009, including optional leather seating, automated lights and automated wipers. While no changes were in store for 2010, the 2011 model year got LED daytime running lights, a new dash panel, cruise control, more storage options, an improved stereo system and new side curtain and knee airbags. Optional GPS and an updated stereo system marked the only changes for 2012. A slightly updated exterior, a new driver seat armrest and updated trim level options as well as the release of the electric version, the Electric Drive, earmarked the key changes for 2013.
