2014 Scion tC trims

2014 tC

The Scion tC coupe receives a host of changes for 2014. Among them is a revised front end with an aggressive "shark mouth" grille, distinctively styled headlights, LED driving lights and taillights and new 18-inch dark gray metallic alloy wheels. A new optional 6-speed sequential sport-shift automatic transmission is borrowed from the sporty Scion FR-S and cuts shift times in half from the previous automatic. The unit also features Dynamic Rev Management, which blips the throttle during downshifts. Cars with the 6-speed manual now include a "pre-load" differential -- similar to those found in Lexus models -- which better manages torque to the front wheels. Retuned dampers give the suspension a more balanced feel while retaining a performance edge. Inside, the 2014 tC features a new standard 6.1-inch LCD audio touchscreen. A BeSpoke Premium stereo is optional and new soft-touch materials have been incorporated throughout. A special-edition model, the "Scion 10" Series tC, features Silver Ignition paint, with illuminated front and rear badging, a premium Pioneer audio system, a solar-powered illuminated shift knob, silver seatbelts and special interior details.

According to the EPA, the new tC promises 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, with a base price starting at $18,275.

2007 Scion tC trims

2007 tC

Since so many Scions undergo customization by dealers, owners and tuner shops, Scion has addressed the issue for 2007 by offering a tC Spec Package to their sole model. This package comes with less expensive items that are commonly removed from custom cars, such as steel wheels with wheel covers, a urethane steering wheel, and a fixed glass panorama roof.

About tC

Scion added its popular and sporty tC coupe in 2005 in efforts to attract performance buyers. A media-enhanced steering wheel was added in 2006 with iPod integration. Several new trims were introduced for 2007, with an entry-level trim debuting called the Spec trim. New front and rear styling updates, updated upholstery and a new instrument panel marked the key changes for 2008.

In 2009, the entry-level Spec trim was discontinued. No changes were in store for 2010, with a complete redesign being introduced in 2011. Updates to the audio system, the addition of Bluetooth integration and streaming HD radio alongside the release of the limited-edition Release Series 7.0 were the only changes for 2012. The Release Series 8.0 trim was the only update for 2013. A refreshed interior and exterior style with new features and a better transmission marked the key improvements for 2013, along with the release of the limited-edition ten-year anniversary model.
