Arriving in 2014 with less presence than the cargo and passenger van models, the ProMaster Cutaway was created for a special tier of the commercial vehicle market. Subtracting the cargo or passenger area leaving only enclosed front row seating, the Ram ProMaster Cutaway features a large open chassis space. The flexibility and upfitting options presented with the Cutaway design would make the vehicle an attractive choice for business entities seeking to create a cube van or other kinds of service vehicles. Based on the 3500-level version of the commercial van in 2014, the Ram ProMaster Cutaway was introduced on a 136-inch wheelbase. In 2015, the Cutaway version of the ProMaster van was also sold in a 2500-level and added longer 159-inch wheelbase variants. Standard engine power for the Ram ProMaster Cutaway came from a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 gasoline engine generating a potent 280 horsepower paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Garnering greater fuel economy and low-end momentum, an optional 3.0-liter EcoDiesel powerplant channeled 295 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed automated manual gearbox. For 2017, a new wide rear axle was added as standard equipment to the ProMaster Cutaway model.
