About Sprinter Passenger
Selling the European-inspired Sprinter commercial van lineup in North America since 2001 under the Freightliner and Dodge brands, the vehicle was officially promoted with the Mercedes-Benz name in the United States starting in 2010. Available with two different wheelbase lengths (144 inches and 170 inches), the 2010 Sprinter Passenger Van was also offered with a high roof providing an interior space that is six feet tall. Accommodating up to four rows of seating, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Passenger Van allowed a maximum 12-person occupancy. Introduced in 2010 with a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine incorporating BlueTEC emission reduction technology, the large passenger van boasted 325 pound feet of torque and excellent fuel economy. Starting in 2014, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Passenger Van adopted a new 2.1-liter turbocharged diesel powerplant matched with a seven-speed automatic transmission. For 2015, Mercedes-Benz introduced a 4x4 version of the passenger van available with the six-cylinder engine. A more affordable entry-level Sprinter Worker Passenger Van was added for 2017 featuring a simplified standard equipment list including a White only paint color.
