The Lexus ES 250 adds LED headlights to all trims, and updates the infotainment system, the ES 350h adds an F Sport trim, while the ES 350 adds an F Sport Dynamic Handling Package and an updated exterior styling.

The Lexus ES 300h and 350 both carry over into 2021 with minimal changes while a new ES 250 model was added to the lineup.

After a full redesign last year, the Lexus ES returns for 2020 with only minor changes. Lexus has updated the infotainment system slightly and added power folding side mirrors as a standard feature to all but the base versions of the car. In addition, a rear spoiler is now available as an option for those wanting a little sportier styling.

Heading into its seventh generation the 2019 Lexus ES is being initiated into the Toyota New Global Architecture. It now shares this platform with the recently redesigned Toyota Camry and Avalon. The 2019 ES is longer, lower, wider and packs an additional 34 horses and 19 foot-pounds of torque. Also new this year, an 8-speed automatic transmission replaces the outgoing 6-Speed. Every new ES is proudly built in Kentucky, which is a first for the lineup. The 2019 ES sports a more raked roofline, familiar spindle grille design, angular headlights, and improved handling characteristics that overall should entice a wider audience to give the ES a chance.

For 2017 the ES gets Lexus' Safety System+ as standard across all trim levels. Safety System+ includes a pre-collision system, a lane departure warning system, intelligent high beams and radar controlled dynamic cruise control. A GPS smartphone app has also been added to the standard Display audio system for this year.

For 2016, Lexus' mid-level luxury ES sedan gets only minor tweaks. The front-end styling is updated, otherwise it's essentially the same as the 2015 model.

Multimedia improvements include Lexus Enform Remote, which allows ES owners to remotely view and control certain features such as the locks, engine stop/start, and climate control via mobile app. A 7-inch touchscreen display with HD Radio, Bluetooth audio and other desirable tech features is also standard.

The ES 350 comes powered by the proven 268-hp, 3.5L V6, while an all-new ES 300h Hybrid--the first such car in the ES range--derives its 200 hp from a 2.5L Atkinson Cycle four-cylinder with assist from an electric motor. The combination is good for an EPA-estimated combined 40 mpg. Both models come loaded with standard amenities, technology, and safety features. The base ES 350 is priced at $36,995.

The 2012 Lexus ES350 is nearly unchanged from the 2011 model save for a few new colors including Nebula Gray and Stargazer Black.

Leather seats are standard for 2011, otherwise the ES 350 stays the same as last year.

The 2010 Lexus ES 350 gets a facelift that includes a revised front grille, bumper, and headlights, as well as a reworking of the taillights, while metallic trim has been added to the side sills. Inside, contrasting-stitched leather abounds, as do elegant metallic and wood trims, a larger center console has more storage, and the steering wheel controls have been updated. Driver's seat memory settings and rain-sensing windshield wipers are now standard, as are seat-mounted side-impact airbags for rear passengers. The ES 350's vehicle stability control (VSC) can now be shut off, and the instrument cluster includes an ECO indicator

The luxurious, comfort-oriented Lexus ES 350 is essentially unchanged for 2009. Base prices rose a bit. The 2009 ES 350 starts priced at $34,320.
