For 2022, the Ranger Rover Sport carries over with minimal changes although the diesel engines are no longer available.

For 2021, the Ranger Rover Sport carries over with minimal changes although two new trims have been added the SVR Carbon Edition and HSE Silver Edition.

The Range Rover Sport carries over into 2019 mostly unchanged. The biggest news is the addition of a new plug-in Hybrid model, which will allow owners to charge their car in at their houses and then use the car as an electric vehicle for short trips. Take the hybrid on a longer trip and the gasoline engine will kick in, at that point replicating the drivetrain of a more conventional hybrid vehicle.

The 2018 Range Rover Sport received an updated exterior and interior from the prior year model. A new grille, bumper and headlight design enhance the exterior, while optional appearance packages make it a true eye-catcher. New optional appearance packages give buyers the option for black accents or a combination of black and carbon fiber accents. New styling to the optional 21- and 22-inch wheels and a more aggressive rear spoiler enhance the exterior even more. Updates to the interior include slimmer front seats and new ambient lighting with 10 color options. The most noticeable interior feature is the Touch Pro Duo Infotainment system, which incorporates two touchscreen displays, eliminating many buttons and knobs from the interior.

The Range Rover Sport gets several enhancements for 2017 aimed at improving vehicle safety and making the Range Rover Sport easier to drive. An Advanced Tow Assist system aids the driver while reversing the vehicle with a trailer attached, while a Low Traction Launch system helps the vehicle pull away from a standstill in low grip conditions. There is also a new 10.2-inch touch screen for the interior and an intelligent speed limiter, which adjusts vehicle speed based on speed limit signs in the surrounding area.

For 2016, the Range Rover Sport gains a V6 turbo diesel engine that makes 254 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. A hands-free power tailgate is now standard, as is Auto Access Height self-lowering suspension, which makes vehicle entry and exit easier for occupants. The All-Terrain Progress Control low-speed crawl feature is improved and rearview and surround-view cameras now display in higher definition. Finally, the InControl Remote app grants unique remote control features to a smartphone, including remote door locks, remote start, fuel level, and automatic notification of emergency services in the event of a crash.

For 2015 Range Rover has added a high-performance version of the Range Rover Sport, dubbed the SVR. The SVR gets 40 more horsepower than the standard Supercharged and Autobiography versions, as well as 21-inch wheels and a host of aerodynamic improvements. In addition, Range Rover have thoroughly gone over the vehicle and revised it in a number of ways, including tweaks to the differential, the gearbox and the brakes, all with the purpose of pushing the envelope when it comes to high performance SUVs.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport has been completely redesigned for 2014, given a more contemporary shape, and moved to an all-aluminum structure that cuts this vehicle's overall weight by around 800 pounds compared to the previous model. The Range Rover Sport is more focused toward on-road performance than ever, although with an adjustable air suspension and Terrain Response 2 system it stull delivers impressive off-road ability. The Range Rover Sport starts at $63,495, $7,000 less than the Toyota Land Cruiser and $3,000 less than a Porsche Cayenne S.

The 2013 Range Rover Sport is mostly unchanged save for two new limited-edition trims-- the Supercharged Limited edition and the GT Limited Edition, both to be built in extremely low numbers. The Supercharged Limited Edition adds several styling cues that emphasize its sporting nature with red brake calipers, carbon fiber trim and leather seating with contrasting stitching and an upgraded 17-speaker stereo. The GT Limited Edition also includes the premium stereo as well as a unique roof spoiler, 20-inch wheels, chrome exhaust pipes and steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.

The Range Rover Evoque is all-new for 2012. Based on the already established LR2 platform, the new Evoque features bold styling and the choice of either 2- or 4-door bodies.

For 2011, the Range Rover gets further upgrades to its already impressive Terrain Response system with the addition of Hill Start Assist and Gradient Acceleration Control. There were a few updates to the exterior styling and the options list now includes a 19-speaker harman/kardon sound system and reclining rear seats. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Range Rover, a limited Autobiography Black edition will be available.

The Range Rover Sport gets two new engines for 2010: a 375-horsepower, 5.0-liter V8 now comes standard on the regular Sport, while there's also a 510-hp supercharged version available. In addition, the Range Rover Sport gets a set of touch-ups that clean up its exterior appearance; the refresh includes a new grille and front bumpers, new sculpting along the front fenders and wheel wells, and a redesigned rear fascia and tail lamps. Inside, the cabin has been more comprehensively redesigned, with soft-touch materials and new finishes and trims. Upgraded displays, infotainment systems and a high-tech audio interface is also part of the redesign.

For 2009, Land Rover's Range Rover Sport gets minimal cosmetic changes, including clear taillamp and turn signal lenses, body-colored tailgate applique, and two new 20-inch wheel designs. Three new colors are offered: Bournville, Santorini Black, and Galway Green. Almond leather with Nutmeg carpet replaces last year's Alpaca seats and carpet, and the new "Noble" interior option adds a metallic plate finish to the center console sides, door handles and air vents. Acoustic laminated side glass has been added to both the driver's and passenger's doors, cutting down on wind and road noise, and the Superchaged model, known last year as the SC, can now be had with either Light Cherry or Dark Oak wood accents. A new HST Limited Edition package is offered on the Supercharged model, including flush-mounted front and rear bumpers, unique grille, extended rear spoiler, body-colored lower panels, adaptive cruise control, ebony leather with ivory stitching, cold climate package and chrome tailpipes.

For 2008, Land Rover's Range Rover Sport gets power folding side mirrors, an eight-way power passenger seat, and a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel as standard. Dark Zebrano wood trim is now available on both the HSE and SC Range Rover Sport.

For 2007, Land Rover's Range Rover Sport gets a standard personal telephone integration system with Bluetooth capability and front passenger one touch power window operation. In addition, Sirius satellite radio is now standard on the SC model. The base HSE can now be configured with the dynamic response system and Brembo disc brakes, while new options on the SC include Lined Oak wood trim, premium leather seat trim, and Stormer 20-inch wheels.
