About Discovery

The 1998 Discovery by Land Rover offered a few new trim updates for the LE and LSE trim levels. A map light was added to the rearview mirror as well. In 1999, Land Rover introduced the newly redesigned Discovery Series II, the first makeover on the popular Discovery series in nearly 11 years. It offered a few standard features that were not present on previous models, like Traction and Hill Descent Control and Active Cornering. No major changes were made to model years 2001 or 2002. In 2003, Land Rover upgraded the engine to a 4.6-liter V8 that offered more power and torque. It also made updates to the suspension, braking and steering systems. A new interior was introduced and the Series II label was dropped in favor of just using Discovery. The 2004 Discover boasted new roof rails, a new CD player in the dashboard and real wood trim on the center console. A limited edition G4 trim was also unveiled for this model year, featuring a bodacious bright orange body color.
