For 2022, the Kia Niro returns with minor changes, the LXS comes standard with automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, remote start, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

For 2021, the Kia Niro returns with minor changes, all models equipped with a Smart Key will now add remote start. Many of the updates includes changes to the inside, new standard features include Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, rear-seat reminder and an upgraded navigation system that comes with 10 years of complimentary map updates and includes the DriveWise Advanced Driver Assistance System.

The Kia Niro is largely unchanged for 2019, although the Graphite Edition is now called the S Touring trim, and the navigation system has been updated.

In 2018 the Kia Niro gets updates to its packages and in doing so, upgrades last year's lane departure warning to a full-fledged lane keep assist. While standard on the Touring trim the new lane keeping assist is now part of the Advanced Technology package on the LX and EX models.
