About Forte5

The Forte was introduced by Kia in 2010 as an important fighter in the competitive compact car category. Originally entering dealership showrooms as a four-door sedan and coupe (called the Koup), a five-door hatchback version of the Forte joined the lineup for the 2011 model year. The 2011 Kia Forte 5-door debuted in EX and SX trim levels featuring a 19.4 cubic feet cargo area (4.7 cubic feet larger than the Forte sedan). A 156-horsepower, 2.0-liter engine powered the EX while the SX was propelled by a more potent 173-horsepower, 2.4-liter powerplant. Named the Forte 5-door from 2011 to 2013, a larger version of the hatchback arrived in 2014 under a sportier Forte5 moniker. The 2014 Kia Forte5 was re-imagined with a more European-inspired exterior, larger wheels and most importantly increased cargo room. In addition to fitting five passengers, the 2014 Forte5 offered 23.2 cubic feet of rear storage space. An optional turbocharged 1.6-liter GDI engine found on the SX model provided a vibrant 201-horsepower thrust to the second generation Forte5. For 2017, the Kia Forte5 again underwent a striking exterior make-over complete with a bold new "tiger nose" grille first seen on the mid-sized Optima. Along with styling revisions, the 2017 Forte5 also added available advanced safety features as well as a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
