2017 FIAT 124 Spider trims

2017 124 Spider

The FIAT 124 Spider is a new car for 2017. It is the first FIAT to be sold in the U.S. that isn't a part of the (growing) 500 lineup since FIAT's return to the American market. The 124 Spider takes the carefree, fun filled attitude of the 500 Abarth and turns it up a couple of notches. While the 500 Abarth is a sports car in a practical subcompact hatchback body, the 124 Spider is a sports car in a sports car body. The new Spider makes very few compromises in its pursuit of driving enjoyment.

About 124 Spider

Remembered fondly for selling small roadsters in the United States from the 1960s through to the 1980s, FIAT revived the passionate vehicle for the marketplace during the 2017 model year. The FIAT 124 Spider's rear-wheel drive platform was co-developed with Mazda that utilized it as the basis for the 2016 MX-5 Miata roadster. FIAT's execution of a sport roadster on the structure resulted in a drastically distinct vehicle inspired specifically on Italian brand identity. The low-slung exterior draws influence from the classic 124 Sport Spider. The 2017 FIAT 124 Spider is offered in three total trims. Classica and Lusso trim levels are powered by a 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo four-cylinder engine generating 160 horsepower. The FIAT 124 Spider is also available in an Abarth model propelled by 164 horsepower. FIAT 124 Spider Abarth also receives a heightened level of performance styling that includes unique front and rear fascia, 17-inch Gun Metal aluminum wheels and a Bilstein sport suspension. The arrival of the FIAT 124 Spider in the United States was marked by a limited edition Prima Edizione Lusso model. A special, stylized version of the Classica trimmed vehicle, the FIAT 124 Spider Prima Edizione Lusso received 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome tipped exhaust and Piano Black interior accents in addition to unique badging. Only 124 examples of the Prima Edizione Lusso variant have been prepared.
