Replacing the 575M Maranello for the 2007 model year, the Ferrari 599 was a radical leap forward in supercar design and technology. Shaped by Italian designer Pininfarina, the 599 supercars innovative silhouette was forward thinking but was also grounded in Ferrari heritage. Entering its fifth and final year of production in 2011, the 599 achieved peak performance heights for a twelve-cylinder powered Ferrari road car.


On the 2011 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, the 6.0-liter V-12 produced 612 horsepower and 448 pound-feet of torque. Power was delivered to the rear wheels were handled through a high-speed, electro-hydraulic six-speed F1 gearbox. The Ferrari GTB Fioranos acceleration time from 0 to 62 miles per hour was rated at 3.7 seconds. Carbon-ceramic brakes, magnetorheological suspension and F1-Trac traction control found on the 599 GTB Fiorano provided the supercar with ample handling performance. Optional with the 599 GTB Fiorano was the HGTE package. Short for Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione, HGTE enriched the twelve-cylinder Ferrari with a lowered, stiffer suspension and 20-inch wheels.


The two-passenger cabin of the 2011 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano employed high-quality materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber. Automatic climate control and satellite navigation system were standard on the 2011 model year 599 GTB Fiorano. Existing as a limited production consisting of just 599 examples worldwide, Ferrari offered a performance-optimized version of the supercar called the 599 GTO. Employing a full array of technologies found on race cars, the street-legal Ferrari 599 GTO featured a reduced weight of around 220 pounds and improved engine output to 661 horsepower. Maximum speed for the 599 GTO reached 208 miles per hour while 0 to 62-mile per hour acceleration was more than four-tenths of a second faster. The Ferrari F12berlinetta debuted in 2013 as a successor to the 599.
