2018 Chevrolet Traverse trims

2018 Traverse

The Traverse's newly redesigned exterior is now longer and wider than the previous iteration even while removing 362 lbs of overall weight. GM makes good use of the space with its new split-folding second-row seat and second-row captain's chairs for easier one-handed access to the third-row seating. New standard features include LED taillights, Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The 2018 Traverse offers two engine choices; a standard 3.6L direct-injected V6 engine that produces 305 hp and 260 lb-feet of torque with an optional choice for the sporty RS trim level which is given a 2.0L Turbo Ecotec engine making 255 horsepower and 295 lb-feet of torque. All trim levels come paired with a 9-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and all-wheel drive except the RS, which comes with the front-wheel drivetrain only. With a combined 21 MPG and a 5000-lb plus towing capacity and all the tech features we've come to expect the all new Traverse makes a strong argument for itself.

About Traverse

Replacing the truck-based TrailBlazer sport utility vehicle as well as the Uplander minivan, the Chevrolet Traverse debuted in 2009. Constructed on a car-like crossover vehicle platform, the Traverse was the largest such product created by Chevrolet. Balancing sport utility traits such as available all-wheel drive traction and sizable interior space with urban performance of a car, the Chevrolet Traverse was well-received by the marketplace in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels. Offered with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive layouts, the 2009 Traverse’s power arrived from a 3.6-liter V-6 engine utilizing gasoline direct injection and variable valve timing.

Generating 281 horsepower (288 with an optional dual exhaust system) and linked to a six-speed automatic transmission, the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse boasted respectable fuel economy of 17 miles per gallon city and 24 miles per gallon highway when equipped with front-wheel drive. Engine power also allowed the 2009 Traverse to tow up to 5,200 pounds with ease. Capable of fitting up to eight passengers at a time, the interior of Traverse could be configured for 116.4 cubic feet of cargo volume. The first year of the Chevrolet Traverse included StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, anti-lock disc brakes and six airbags as standard safety equipment.

Available items on the Traverse included a power liftgate, rearview camera and Bluetooth connectivity. For 2013, the Chevrolet Traverse underwent a styling adjustment resulting in a new front grille, power dome hood and a new liftgate. The ride of the crossover vehicle was also tweaked in 2013 for better roll control and smoothness at low speeds. Introduced as an option on the 2013 Traverse, Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system operates through a 6.5-inch color touch screen.
