About Silverado 2500HD Classic

In 2007, two versions of the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD pickup truck were available. Customers were offered the choice of a brand-new Silverado 2500HD based on the GMT900 platform or the carry-over Classic model based on the GMT800 platform. The 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Classic pickup truck uses a tried and true platform first introduced in 2001. Regular, extended and crew cab versions of the 2007 Silverado 2500HD Classic were available with rear-wheel or four-wheel drivetrains.

Standard engine propulsion for the 2007 Silverado 2500HD Classic is derived from a 6.0-liter Vortec V-8 powerplant. The base engine produces 300 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque. A larger gasoline engine is optional on the Silverado 2500HD Classic in the form of an 8.1-liter V-8 that generates 330 horsepower. For maximum towing and hauling performance, a Duramax 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel powerplant was available on the 2007 Silverado 2500HD Classic pickup truck. At 1,800 RPM, peak torque of 650 pound-feet is coaxed out of the 6.6-liter turbo diesel engine.

A five-speed manual transmission is standard while four-speed and six-speed automatic gearbox choice is also available with the heavy-duty truck. Maximum towing capacity for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Classic equipped with the 8.1-liter gasoline engine or the 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel is rated at 12,000 pounds. When opting for an extended or crew cab model, the Silverado 2500HD Classic provides seating for up to six adults.

Standard equipment on the 2007 Silverado 2500HD included automatic headlamps, multi-zone climate control, interior power outlet and four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking system. The GMT800-based Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Classic pickup truck only produced for the 2007 model year.
