The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 carries over with minimal changes for 2026. The Silverado 1500 was refreshed back in 2023 and is anticipated to sport the same design until 2027 or 2028 based on online speculation. Changes for this year include the deletion of two floor liner options, the Realtree edition trim, and two optional paints, and the addition of two white paint options. In addition, an exhaust calibration feature, a Realtree package is now available on the Work Truck and Custom trims, plus two new features on the ZR2 trim.

With a major refresh last year, the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 receives an ZR2 Bison Special-edition trim and the Duramax diesel powertrain is also getting upgraded.

For 2022, the Chevrolet Silverado received considerable changes, including refreshed exterior design. Starting at the LT trim and up, the trucks get a redesigned interior with better quality materials, 13.4-inch touchscreen, standard 12.3-gauge cluster. The new trim available to handle the rougher terrains, the ZR2 off-road. Also, the High Country gets semi-automated super cruise control.

For 2021, the Chevrolet Silverado returns with minor changes, including modifications to equipment, exterior colors and special edition packages.

After a full re-design last year, the Chevrolet Silverado expands its capabilities to more trim levels this year. Its 420-hp 6.2L V8 and 10-speed automatic transmission combo will now be optional on Custom Trail Boss and LT Trail Boss trims. Maximum trailering capacity increases to 13,400 pounds when properly equipped and Chevrolets 10-speed transmission can also now be paired with the 5.3L V8 engine on certain Silverado trim levels. Also new this year is Chevrolets camera-based cruise control offered in LT, LTZ and High-Country trim levels.

After a fairly extensive redesign last year, the Traverse returns to 2019 with just a few changes. The available heated steering wheel has been swapped from a manual unit to an automatic one, while the 18-inch wheels are now available in a new design.

The Chevrolet Silverado is all-new for 2019 after a full redesign. The new truck looks far more modern and sharp than the one it replaces with a more upright grille, more attractive front fascia and advanced construction techniques that utilize lightweight materials. The result is a significantly better truck than last year's Silverado, with particular gains being made under the skin. The 2019 Silverado 1500 also grows in size, making it more capable of hauling all manner of things from place to place. At the same time, some new luxury options have also made their way into the Silverado 1500, allowing the truck to do more things for more people.

For 2018 only a few changes were made to the Silverado 1500, the rearview camera and a 7-inch touchscreen are now standard. The mild-hybrid eAssist package which turns off the engine when the vehicle is stopped can now be ordered in conjunction with the LT or LTZ trim.

The Chevrolet Silverado remains mostly unchanged for 2017 save for a few safety features. A low-speed automatic forward braking system is available as part of the Enhanced Driver Alert Package, which should help prevent parking lot dings. A Teen Driver feature is also new for 2017. This feature enables parents to monitor maximum speed, distance driven and the number of times the various active safety systems were tripped, a useful feature for helping parents keep an eye on their children.

For 2016, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 includes several minor updates. The front end is slightly revised, with better-integrated headlights, including bi-halogen projectors and LED accents. Inside, HD radio returns, and there's a remote locking tailgate, as well as optional power-retractable side steps on Crew Cab models. The Z71 package is now offered only on 4WD Silverados. Finally, a new 8-speed automatic transmission is standard on Silverados with the 6.2L V8 as well as 5.3L Silverados outfitted in LTZ, LTZ/Z71 and High Country trims.

After a significant redesign for 2014, the Silverado 1500 returns, essentially unaltered for 2015. The Silverado 1500 is capable of towing up to 12,000 lbs. when properly equipped.

Revised sheet metal creates a heavily creased, squared, and powerful look. The new trucks also include three new all-aluminum EcoTec3 engines -- a V6 and two V8s -- with cylinder de-activation, direct injection and variable valve timing. As a result, each produces more power and torque than the units they replace. Chevrolet claims the new 355-hp 5.3L "EcoTec3" V8 delivers 23 mpg on the highway in 2-wheel drive models, making it the most fuel-efficient V8 truck on the road, while the 285-hp 4.3L V6 is claimed to have the most torque and highest tow rating of any standard V6. A quieter, more comfortable, more technologically advanced cab is also new, as is revised steering, suspension and brakes and a new cargo management solutions in the bed. All these changes and more in the new Silverado 1500 amount to zero increase in the base price, with the regular cab starting at $24,585.

Ahead of an all-new Silverado slated to appear in 2014, the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 full-size pickup receives minimal changes for 2013. Among them are three new exterior colors--Deep Ruby Metallic, White Diamond Tricoat and Blue Topaz Metallic. Conversely, Imperial Blue Metallic and Black Granite Metallic colors have been discontinued. Additionally, the Deluxe Chrome Package has been deleted.

Several small styling tweaks have been made, including a new split grille and a new aerodynamic front bumper for LS and LT models without tow hooks. The Silverado 1500 gets a number of changes aimed at improved fuel efficiency. The 4.8- and 5.3-liter V8 engines offers improved fuel economy through new variable valve timing, while the 5.3-liter versions get a taller 3.08 axle ratio and fuel-saver mode, along with a 6-speed automatic transmission, to increase EPA ratings. All three engines now have E85 Flex Fuel capability. On the safety side, side-curtain airbags, seat-mounted side bags and Stabilitrak stability control are now standard on all Silverado 1500s, while the interior door trim has been redesigned for better side safety. Feature content has been upped a bit, too. All models but the base Silverado now offer a USB connector for audio devices and gadget charging, and a rearview camera system is more widely available. Taupe Gray Metallic and Sheer Silver Metallic are new colors for the lineup.

The Chevy Silverado sees some important changes for 2009, including the availability of a new gas/electric hybrid model, as well as a new 6.2L Vortec V8 engine, which can run on E85 ethanol-blended fuel. Also new for that engine, is a 6-speed automatic transmission, XM satellite radio, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and a rearview camera system. The 4-speed super-duty transmission has been deleted, as have the paint colors Dark Blue Metallic and Desert Brown Metallic. New standard features on LTZ models include a rear locking differential, trailer package and remote start. StabiliTrak stability control is now only available on V8 model Silverados.

The Chevy Silverado, completely redesigned for 2007, enters 2008 with few changes. A six-way power seat adjuster is now available on 1LT models, and XM satellite radio is standard across all trims. Two new reds (Dark Cherry Metallic and Deep Ruby Metallic) replace Sport Red Metallic.

More than before, it can be equipped to fit a wide range of roles, from casual hauler to weekend tow vehicle to serious work truck, because of a new packaging philosophy that allows two different interior themes. Like its forbears, the new Silverado is available in a wide range of combinations, determined from three different cab styles, three cargo box lengths, three trim levels, five suspensions, and various V6 and V8 engines. The new Silverado is built on a new fully boxed frame and is three inches wider at the front wheels and an inch wider at the back wheels for improved stability, while a new coil-over-shock front suspension design and new rack-and-pinion steering unit bring improvements in ride and handling. The Stabilitrak stability control system is available on the Silverado for the first time. Warranty coverage is increased for 2007, with a new five-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty that's fully transferable and includes roadside assistance for the full period. The former Silverado is still being sold for 2007 as the Silverado Classic, and to avoid confusion, the new trucks are being referred to by their factory designation, GMT900, by some dealerships.
