The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 carries over with minimal changes for 2026. The Silverado 1500 was refreshed back in 2023 and is anticipated to sport the same design until 2027 or 2028 based on online speculation. Changes for this year include the deletion of two floor liner options, the Realtree edition trim, and two optional paints, and the addition of two white paint options. In addition, an exhaust calibration feature, a Realtree package is now available on the Work Truck and Custom trims, plus two new features on the ZR2 trim.

As a result, each produces more power and torque than the units they replace. Chevrolet claims the new 355-hp 5.3L "EcoTec3" V8 delivers 23 mpg on the highway in 2-wheel drive models, making it the most fuel-efficient V8 truck on the road, while the 285-hp 4.3L V6 is claimed to have the most torque and highest tow rating of any standard V6. A quieter, more comfortable, more technologically advanced cab is also new, as is revised steering, suspension and brakes and a new cargo management solutions in the bed. All these changes and more in the new Silverado 1500 amount to zero increase in the base price, with the regular cab starting at $24,585.

All three engines now have E85 Flex Fuel capability. On the safety side, side-curtain airbags, seat-mounted side bags and Stabilitrak stability control are now standard on all Silverado 1500s, while the interior door trim has been redesigned for better side safety. Feature content has been upped a bit, too. All models but the base Silverado now offer a USB connector for audio devices and gadget charging, and a rearview camera system is more widely available. Taupe Gray Metallic and Sheer Silver Metallic are new colors for the lineup.

The former Silverado is still being sold for 2007 as the Silverado Classic, and to avoid confusion, the new trucks are being referred to by their factory designation, GMT900, by some dealerships.
