The Chevrolet Cruze returns for 2019 with updated styling to the front and rear of the vehicle. The new front fascia includes a new grill and headlamps while the rear of the car gets optional LED taillights. Cruzes equipped with the RS package also get blacked out window moldings, emblems and wheels. Several new colors are available for 2019 as well.

The debut of a new 2014 Chevy Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel model is the big news for the Cruze lineup this year. With a modern "Clean" diesel engine that's already been proven in the European market, the Clean Turbo Diesel model can accelerate to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds yet earns an EPA highway rating of 46 mpg. It also meets the most stringent U.S. emissions requirements and is B20 (biodiesel-blend) compatible. Elsewhere in the Cruze lineup, a new set of colors are subbed in. Red Hot, Rainforest Green Metallic, Tungsten Metallic and Blue Ray Metallic replace Autumn Metallic, Blue Topaz Metallic, Victory Red and Cyber Gray Metallic.

Chevrolet has enhanced the Cruze with new interior options, including an infotainment system that's standard on all but the base LS model. This system includes Bluetooth streaming audio, Pandora compatibility and voice recognition among other features. Both engines can be paired with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the trim levels, the Chevrolet Cruze Eco features active grille shutters, low-rolling resistance tires and specific gearing that maximizes the vehicle for fuel economy. For 2013, the Chevrolet Cruze received a major equipment upgrade with the addition of standard Chevrolet MyLink. Optional high-tech safety equipment such as Rear park assist, Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert was made available on the Cruze.
The 2014 Chevrolet Cruze became the first General Motors produced car since the 1980s to offer a diesel engine in North America. The 2014 Cruze Diesel provided performance and fuel mileage accustomed to European drivers. Producing 151 horsepower and 264 pound-foot of torque, a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine allowed the compact sedan to achieve around 36 miles per gallon fuel economy during average driving.
