For 2018 the Cadillac XTS gets changes to the exterior including LED headlights and brake lights, an updated grille and some other changes to the fenders, fascia and wheels. Upgrades to the CUE entertainments system and an upgraded chassis round off the changes.

Providing a different method of driver awareness, the Safety Alert Seat made available on the XTS sedan uses vibrations to warn the motorist of potential issues on the road. The seat would send a vibration to the left or right side depending on what corner of the vehicle a concern arises. Additional high-tech safety equipment offered on the 2013 XTS included Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Departure Warning as well as front and rear automatic brakes. Designed for five-passenger occupancy, the interior of the Cadillac XTS featured standard dual-zone climate control, illuminated entry lighting as well as Bose audio system.
On Platinum trim XTS models, a three-zone climate control system, 14-speaker surround sound audio array and Opus full-leather seating enhanced the interior. Standard equipped inside all Cadillac XTS is the CUE interface that presented tech-savvy luxury car owners with enhanced connectivity. Eight-inch touch control center display screen, Bluetooth and voice recognition is some key components of the Cadillac CUE system. For 2014, a 410-horsepower, twin-turbocharged V-6 propelled XTS Vsport model was introduced.
