The Cadillac Escalade continues into 2013 essentially unchanged. The brakes have been recalibrated and there are a few new colors offered, but the 2013 Escalade is otherwise the same as last year's model.

Active Fuel Management technology is added to the 6.2-liter V8 engine to improve fuel efficiency, while a new battery saver shuts off accessory power when the charge gets too low. Side thorax airbags have been added in front, and the inside door panels have been revised for better side-impact protection. The in-dash clock that was formerly offered only in the Platinum model is now standard on all Escalades, and there's a new USB connector that functions as an audio interface or gadget charger. Hybrid models of the Escalade get a taller axle ratio for improved fuel economy; the 6.0-liter engine in the Hybrid is now also flex-fuel capable. Also, there's one color change to the Escalade lineup: Silver Lining replaces Quick Silver and Blue Chip.

The 6.0L Vortec V8 powerplant is available in either two-wheel or all-wheel drive and makes 332 hp. It is mated to a hybrid-specific 6-speed and has a towing capacity of 5,800 lb. E85 FlexFuel capability is now available, as is Side Blind Zone Alert, XM NavTraffic, power-adjustable tilt steering, express-up windows, and Magnetic Ride Control suspension on Escalades with 22-inch wheels. The standard audio system now includes navigation, while a Bluetooth interface through OnStar and a rearview backup camera are standard as well. A special Black Cherry exterior color will be available for a limited time.

Introduced for 2002, the Escalade EXT was equipped with a flexible pickup truck bed. The bed floor of the premium utility vehicle could be expanded from five to eight feet in length through the configurable mid-gate. Up to five passengers can be seated inside the vehicle when full cargo capacity is not in use. The 2002 Cadillac Escalade EXT employed the power of the 6.0-liter V-8 engine generating 345 horsepower. The powerplant was linked to a four-speed automatic transmission configured with an all-wheel drive system. Major upgrades were presented for the 2003 model year version of the Escalade EXT. HID headlights, upgraded StabiliTrak and a new dual-zone electronic climate control system was made available on the luxury vehicle. A Panasonic-supplied rear-seat entertainment system consisting of a seven-inch LCD screen, DVD player, wireless headphones and a remote control was added as optional equipment. A touch-screen navigation system was added to the Escalade EXT in 2005 along with an upgraded alternator. For 2007, the Cadillac Escalade EXT featured updated exterior style and an all-new engine that featured variable valve timing. A 6.2-liter V-8 engine included with the 2007 Escalade EXT produced 403 horsepower paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox. The V-8 powerplant was upgraded to run E85 blended gasoline in 2009 and added Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation technology in 2010. The Cadillac Escalade EXT was discontinued after the 2013 model year ahead of a complete 2015 redesign coming to the Escalade sport utility vehicle.
