Buick Encore Model Years and History

The 2022 Buick Encore gets upgrades to the engine boosting it to 155 horsepower and the base trim was dropped making the Preferred trim the only option.

For 2021, the Buick Encore gains minors changes, this includes new exterior color options modified trim options.

The Buick Encore returns for 2020 with very few changes to the lineup. The 153-hp turbocharged engine is dropped leaving the 138-hp engine as the sole drivetrain option.

The Buick Encore returns for 2019 with a few evolutionary changes to the lineup. The trim levels have been simplified, while the more powerful engine is now available on the top of the line Essence trim. A new safety package has been added as well. It includes a park assist system, a forward collision alert system and a lane departure warning system.

Buick Encore receives a few minor updates for 2018. Coppertino Metallic replaces Rock Metallic, the addition of custom-molded splash guards, capless fuel fill, and an ionizing air cleaner for Premium models.

Buick refreshed the Encore for 2017. Like many GM vehicles, the Encore gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay availability.

Buick has introduced a new trim level for 2016, the Sport Touring. Motivated by a more powerful version of the 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder and features unique exterior styling cues. Slotting right into the middle of the lineup, the Encore Sport Touring offers a little more styling, speed and convenience at a price that won't break the bank.

Following its 2013 debut, the Buick Encore has received few changes since, and moves into 2015 essentially the same. In-car wireless Wi-Fi is new and standard this year.

The Buick Encore is all new for 2013. It is a genre bending small crossover with great fuel economy and lots of premium features. It features modern, attractive styling and plenty of interior amenities. Buick is trying something new with the Encore, combining a set of attributes not normally associated with one vehicle. It's premium, but small and efficient.
