Following being on hiatus for five years, Volkswagen's minivan the EuroVan was released in the U.S., boasting a new design, a powerful six-cylinder engine and updated safety enhancements. In 2000, remote entry was added alongside privacy glass in the rear windows, with subtle updates made to various trim levels. Numerous upgrades were in store for 2001, including: an upgraded V6 engine that made 201 hp, an electronic stability control system, a new stereo and standard fog lamps.
