Following being on hiatus for five years, Volkswagen's minivan the EuroVan was released in the U.S., boasting a new design, a powerful six-cylinder engine and updated safety enhancements. In 2000, remote entry was added alongside privacy glass in the rear windows, with subtle updates made to various trim levels.
