As crossovers and SUVs take over the utility market, wagons are slowly getting phased out by most companies. Mercedes-Benz hangs onto its E-Class wagon, though, which comes in a regular model and an AMG variant. Although the car looks mostly the same from its predecessor, the 2019 version gets better performance from its twin-turbocharged V6 engine, a three-spoke steering wheel, a new wheel design, and a slight interior facelift. Otherwise, the car continues to impress by bringing back favorite features like its 12.3-inch infotainment system with navigation, climate settings, and audio controls, a rear-facing third row, a split-folding second row, and a selection of five driving modes. The AMG E-Class wagon gets a sportier exterior than the non-AMG model, plus a bi-turbo V8, AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, and Dynamic Select driving modes. Options for the E-Class lineup include various wheel designs, leather upholstery, and a head-up display.
