Introduction
With the debut of the redesigned 2014 Kia Forte Koup at the 2013 New York International Auto Show,
the new 2014 Forte lineup is complete.
Kia offers
its new compact car in 2-door coupe, 5-door hatchback, and 4-door sedan
body styles, in a choice between EX and SX trim levels.

Exterior Features
According to Kia, the new 2014 Forte Koup is bigger than the model it
replaces: longer, wider, and lower to the ground. Standard equipment
includes fog lights, LED positioning lights, 16-inch aluminum wheels,
and P205/55R16 tires.
Interior Features
Kia asserts that the redesigned 2014 Forte Koup is equipped with what
it characterizes as premium materials, including soft touch points
where the driver and passenger are likely to contact features and
controls within the cabin. Standard design elements include simulated
carbon fiber trim, leather-wrapped tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and
white-on-black gauges, and the
Forte
Koup EX is equipped with standard Bluetooth with UVO eServices, a
reversing camera, and satellite radio.
Optional
Features

Opting for the 2014 Forte Koup SX trim adds more than extra horsepower
and torque. This version is equipped with 18-inch aluminum wheels, more
aggressive tires, larger front brakes, and dual exhaust outlets with
chrome tips. The SX also has a restyled front end and LED taillights,
while the interior is upgraded with metallic pedals and carbon fiber
cloth seat insert patterns.
Kia offers numerous options for the redesigned 2014 Forte Koup,
including leather seats, a 10-way power driver seat, heated front
seats, heated steering wheel, ventilated driver seat, and dual-zone
automatic climate control. Kia's Smart Key passive entry and
push-button ignition system is also optional, along with a premium
audio system, power sunroof, navigation system, HD Radio, auto-dimming
rearview mirror, and high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights.

Under the Hood
The new Kia Forte Koup EX is equipped with a new direct-injection,
2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine generating 173 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and
154 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,700 rpm. A 6-speed automatic transmission is
standard, as well as sport suspension tuning and FlexSteer electric
steering with three driver-selected settings including Comfort, Normal,
and Sport.
The Forte Koup SX is powered by a turbocharged, direct-injection,
1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine generating 201 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and
195 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,750 rpm and 4,500 rpm. This engine is
equipped with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, with an automatic
also available. Choose the automatic, and the Forte Koup SX gets a set
of paddle shifters for manual control of gear changes.
Kia's 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty covers the engine and
transmission, while the rest of the car is protected by a
5-year/60,000-mile warranty with 24-hour roadside assistance.

Safety and Technology
In addition to a standard reversing camera, the 2014 Forte Koup is
equipped with UVO eServices. UVO pairs with a smartphone to provide a
wide range of telematics, infotainment, vehicle diagnostics, and mobile
applications through voice commands or the Forte Koup's standard
in-dash touch screen. The Forte Koup's owner can set maximum vehicle
speed alerts, program geographic boundary alerts, and contact roadside
assistance. If the vehicle's air bags deploy, the system automatically
contacts rescue personnel and sends them to the vehicle's location to
speed assistance.
