2006 Ford Ratings, Reviews and Awards

Ford is going through some significant restructuring. 2006 sees quite a bit of change-up in the primary models with the classic Thunderbird and the family-oriented Excursion leaving the lineup. Ford replaces them with a mid-sized family sedan, the Fusion, available in four and six-cylinder options. Ford heavily redesigns the classic Explore and the Sport Trac. The Explorer gets more length overall, and electronic stability controls are now standard for all trims. The Ford Ranger also receives a retool for a sleeker, more updated design aesthetic. Fans of the Mustang now have a limited-edition option for the exclusive GT models, the California Special Package. There’s also a 40th Anniversary trim package commemorating the Le Mans victory by the original race car. It’s available at no extra cost for GT buyers. Ford F-150 gets a special edition Harley Davidson option celebrating the official branding partnership of these two American legends.
