2006 Audi Ratings, Reviews and Awards
Audi focuses on practicality this year to entice first-time luxury car buyers. The A3 debuts, available only in a five-door hatchback but featuring traction and cruise control and 17-inch alloy wheels as standard. A wagon version, the Avant, joins the A6 lineup with a Quattro all-wheel drive and two powerful engine options. The sedan gets an engine update with a continuously variable transmission for the six-cylinder option and the choice for a more affordable front wheel drive package. An S-Line A6 package and a sports A8 package give those models a bit more excitement, but Audi’s decision to drop the Allroad for 2006 is made in anticipation of a new crossover for future model years. The rest of Audi’s models see few updates aside from minor cosmetic changes and some improved safety features.
