With the Palisade Calligraphy, Hyundai delivers luxury levels of design and materials at a remarkably low price. Simply push the available Driver Talk intercom button, and your voice will amplify and carry to the rear speakers, allowing you to carry on a conversation with occupants in the second and/or third-row seats. Sure, they might still ignore the driver, but at least they no longer can use the excuse that they couldn’t hear you. 

Beyond Driver Talk, the available heads-up display (HUD) provides an abundance of relevant information to keep you informed while your eyes remain on the road. The HUD shows data related to the blind-spot warning system, navigation directions, road signs and speed limits, and Highway Driving Assist status.

While heated and ventilated seats are common features for the driver and front passenger seats, the Palisade Limited and Calligraphy trim levels give the second-row passengers the ability to warm or cool their buns, too. In every Palisade, second-row riders also have their own climate zone, and the diffuser vent design prevents drafts and spreads the conditioned air around in an even fashion. 

As for the third-row seat, Hyundai makes it easy for those who have to climb into the way-back with second-row captain’s chairs that slide fore and aft with a single touch of a button.

You probably already know about the Palisade’s impressive cargo capacity. Behind the third-row seats, the SUV provides 18 cubic feet of space. Fold those down to get 45.8 cubic feet, while maximum space behind the front seats measures 86.4 cubic feet. 

What you might not know is that Hyundai supplies all kinds of cool features that keep your things organized, such as the floating bridge center console design that gives you a nice, big space to place your bag. The front seatbacks have a little pocket specifically designed for smartphones, and everyone will make use of the airplane seat-style USB ports to charge them up.

Every Palisade has a rear seat reminder system that chimes as you turn off the engine to remind you to check in the back seat before departing the SUV. It does this whenever you open a rear door before starting the engine to prevent parents from forgetting their young children might be in the back seat. 

With the Limited and Calligraphy trim levels, Hyundai goes even further. You’ll get an ultrasonic rear occupant sensor that checks for movement in the back seat for up to 24 hours, and if someone or something stirs awake, the system will honk the horn, flash the lights, and send you a text message to check your SUV.
