2023 Ford Bronco Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited Edition Preview

Chris Teague | Aug 14, 2022

Ford is still having trouble keeping pace with Bronco demand, and now, there's yet another unique variant to add to the pile. To further appeal to off-road enthusiasts, the 2023 Ford Bronco will be available with two new special editions that bring retro styling and unique colors: Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited Edition.

Though both packages focus more on appearance rather than boosting actual off-road performance, they bring a series of meaningful cosmetic upgrades. The new Bronco Heritage variants get a two-tone paint job, including Oxford White on the roof, grille, and unique badging, while Race Red "FORD" badging accentuates the white grille.

The 2023 Bronco Heritage Edition builds on Big Bend trim-level content. That includes a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a 7-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain delivers 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque and hits the ground through retro steel wheels and 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires. Ford also equips the SUV with the available Sasquatch package, which brings upgraded suspension with Bilstein dampers.

Stepping up to the Bronco Heritage Limited Edition brings content from the Badlands trim, which includes a more powerful turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine. It's rated at 330 hp and 415 pound-feet of torque and comes paired exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Heritage Limited Edition variant also gets unique metal Bronco fender badging and leather/vinyl seats.

Neat retro-inspired steel wheels come standard for the Heritage Edition; the Heritage Limited comes with black-painted wheels. Ford offers five paint colors for the Heritage Edition, but the Heritage Limited Edition is only available in Robin's Egg Blue at launch. Ford intends to offer Yellowstone Metallic on the Heritage Limited Edition late in the 2023 model year, with Peak Blue joining the color palette for the 2024 model year.

Ford will limit production of the Bronco Heritage Limited Edition to 1,966 units to commemorate the year in which the original Bronco debuted. The Bronco Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited Edition will go on sale later this year. Current Bronco order holders currently awaiting their vehicle will take priority. Orders will open to all customers next year. Pricing for the 2023 Bronco Heritage Edition starts at $44,305; the Heritage Limited Edition starts at $66,895.
