New for 2019:GMC

For 2019, GMC launches a redesigned Sierra 1500 pickup truck, the company’s most important model. The smaller Canyon pickup gets a handful of updates this year, while the SUVs receive new Black Edition or Graphite Edition option packages that provide a trendy blacked-out appearance. The small Terrain crossover’s crash-test ratings improve, and it adds new safety technologies this year.

Detailed changes for each 2019 GMC SUV, truck, and van model are shown below, listed in alphabetical order.

 

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali

2019 GMC Acadia

  • SLT Black Edition debuts with blacked-out exterior details and 20-in. machined finish wheels with black pockets
  • All Terrain trim available with 17-in. wheels and 255/65 all-terrain tires
  • New paint colors: Dark Sky, Pepperdust, Red Quartz, Smokey Quartz

2019 GMC Canyon

  • New cloud-connected infotainment systems debut
  • SLE and higher trims get new standard digital reversing camera, extra microphone for improved voice recognition, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat
  • Available rear park-assist sensors
  • Broader availability of heated steering wheel and wireless device charging
  • New aluminum wheel design for SLE trim
  • New paint colors: Sedona, Blue Emerald, Dark Sky, Smokey Quartz

2019 GMC Sierra 1500

  • GMC’s full-size, light-duty pickup truck is completely redesigned
  • V-6 and V-8 engines return, with turbocharged 4-cylinder and turbocharged diesel 6-cylinder engines available
  • Automatic transmissions with 6, 8, or 10 speeds
  • Lighter and more fuel-efficient than before, with new cylinder-deactivation technology on V-8 engines
  • Traction Select system debuts with five pre-programmed driving modes
  • Upgraded brakes and new suspension, with adaptive damping for Sierra Denali version
  • More cab and cargo space, with improved bed strength and utility
  • Available MultiPro Tailgate design, carbon fiber cargo box
  • New driver-assistance, collision-avoidance, and infotainment technologies
  • New head-up display, rear camera mirror, ProGrade Trailering system with a smartphone app
  • Sierra AT4 trim debuts with rugged off-roading modifications from the factory

2019 GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD

  • GMC announced no changes to the Sierra HD as it prepares to introduce a replacement for 2020

2019 GMC Terrain

  • Changes in middle of 2018 improve Terrain’s crash-test ratings
  • New Black Edition package offered for SLE and SLT trim, adding blacked-out exterior appearance and 19-in. aluminum wheels
  • Chrome package debuts for SLT trim, including chrome exterior trim and machined-finish 19-in. aluminum wheels
  • Driver Alert Package II adds new adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Rear-vision camera is a new option (standard on Denali), while Terrain Denali gains an available surround-view camera system
  • New paint color: Smokey Quartz

2019 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL

  • New SLT Graphite and SLT Graphite Performance Edition option packages debut
  • SLT Graphite package adds blacked-out exterior trim, upgraded suspension, and 22-in. aluminum wheels
  • SLT Graphite Performance Edition package includes 6.2-liter V-8 engine, 10-speed automatic transmission, adaptive damping suspension, a 2-speed active transfer case (4WD models), and a slew of infotainment system upgrades
  • New paint colors: Dark Sky, Smokey Quartz, Pepperdust
