The Continental returned after being missing from Lincoln’s lineup. For lovers of sedans, the Continental brings back some serious luxury, enough to compete with the likes of Cadillac, Lexus, and even Jaguar. It still sticks with a six-speed transmission, which could be upgraded to an eight, but the 3.7-liter V6 puts out 305 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft of torque. A 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 with 335 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft of torque is also an option. The 2018 Continental comes in four trims: Premier, Select, Reserve, as well as Black Label. The 2018 Lincoln MKZ saw a significant update in 2017, making it better suited to handle the foreign competition. For a sedan, the MKZ is a bit less about performance but more about sophisticated design and a luxury feel. The 2018 MKZ has three powertrains: a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, and a hybrid version, with a 2.0-liter gas/electric combination.
