Chevrolet has the sedan market covered, from the subcompact Sonic on up to the full-size Impala and SS. In between are the Cruze, Malibu, and Volt. The Cruze is the compact entry, while the Malibu competes in the busy mid-size class. The Impala is meant to be the main full-size offering from Chevrolet, but those who prefer something sporty might be interested in the V-8 powered, rear-drive SS. The Volt should appeal to the green crowd, as it’s an electric vehicle with a range-extending gasoline engine – the concept behind the Volt is that if the juice runs out, the driver will be able to travel on the gasoline engine until he or she can charge the electric motor and/or stop at a gas station to fill up. A Volt owner who charges every night or day and doesn’t have a long commute might use very little gas over time.
