The 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee is powered by a new 3.7-liter V-6 or a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8. Providing a gasoline alternative, Jeep debuts the Liberty CRD powered by a 2.8-liter diesel engine. The first Jeep product to be offered in North America with a diesel engine option, the Liberty CRD model delivers a massive 295 pound-feet of torque. For 2005, the Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited is offered with a manual transmission that now features six forward gears. Buyers of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will also be able to order it in Rubicon extreme off-roading trim.
