Acura introduces a second-generation version of their TL premium sport sedan for 1999. Powered by a 225-horsepower, 3.2-liter V-6 engine and combined with SportShift four-speed automatic transmission, the Acura TL's only factory option is a navigation system. The exterior and interior of the Acura RL flagship sedan have also been considerably revised for 1999. In addition to the new appearance, larger disc brakes and standard HID headlights are added to the 1999 RL sedan. The 1999 Acura CL coupe adds leather to its standard equipment array while heated front seats are now included on the CL 3.0 model. Reduced to the LS, GS and GS-R trim levels for 1999, the 1999 Acura Integra remains offered as a coupe or sedan. 1997 and 1998 IndyCar champion Alex Zanardi is honored with the 1999 model year Acura NSX supercar. Painted New Formula Red, wearing BBS wheels and receiving many weight-saving modifications, the Alex Zanardi Edition Acura NSX's production will be limited to just 50 cars.
