2022 Honda Civic Si Price to Start at $28,315

Earlier this year, Honda rolled out a brand new Civic and Civic Hatchback for 2022. The cars feature a mature design, clean interior layout, and refreshed technology. Speculation immediately turned to the brand’s two performance-oriented Civic models, the Civic Si and Civic Type R. Honda unveiled the 2022 Civic Si in October. Today, the automaker announced pricing for the car.

The 2022 Honda Civic Si price starts at $28,315, including the $1,015 destination charge. For those keeping score, that’s $2,160 more than the previous Civic Si, which was last on sale as a 2020 model. That money buys a turbocharged, 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque paired exclusively with a manual transmission. Honda notes that the powertrain delivers peak torque 300 rpm sooner in the rev range than the previous Civic Si. Honda says the flywheel is a new single-mass design that cuts weight and helps give the engine a sharper throttle response. Adding summer tires at the factory pushes the Si’s price by $200 to $28,515.

Honda says it redesigned the Si’s manual gearbox with 10-percent shorter throws and a better shifter feel. For the first time, a new rev-matching system is standard in a Civic Si, which aids in downshifts by matching engine rpm with anticipated gear changes.

The Si interior features red accents, sport seats with heavy bolstering and side supports, and sport pedals. The car gets a 9-inch color touchscreen paired with a 7-inch color LCD gauge cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with a Bose 12-speaker audio system with Centerpoint 2 technology.

While it’s true that the Civic is becoming more expensive, refinements made to the 2022 Si over the outgoing model take some of the sting out of the MSRP. We don’t yet know the upcoming Civic Type R pricing, but the Si traditionally represents a steep discount over the more powerful car. It’s worth noting that the price is also in line with the competition, which includes a brand-new Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ for 2022.
