Volkswagen Expands R-Line Package to 2014 Tiguan and Touareg

Jeff Youngs | Jan 16, 2013
At the 2013 North American International Auto Show, Volkswagen announced it is expanding its R-Line roster of vehicles to include the 2014 Tiguan crossover and 2014 Touareg SUV. They will join the Beetle R-Line and the CC R-Line models when they go on sale in the third quarter of 2013.

The 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is offered with a choice of front-wheel drive or 4Motion all-wheel drive. It includes SEL trim, and adds specific 19-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in lower profile tires, sport suspension, bi-xenon headlights with LED running lights, paddle shifters mounted to a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a Fender premium audio system. Additional upgrades are cosmetic in nature, including side skirts, rear spoiler, metallic finish interior trim, aluminum sport pedals, and a black headliner.

The 2014 Volkswagen Touareg R-Line is available with the standard V-6 engine or with the optional Clean Diesel TDI powertrain, and is based on the Lux trim level. A sport suspension is standard, along with 20-inch aluminum wheels, restyled front end, side skirts, LED taillights, and oval exhaust outlets. The interior is equipped with high-gloss black and brushed aluminum trim, and features a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
