2009 Hummer H2Largely carryover for 2009, the Hummer H2 is powered by a 393-hp, 6.2-liter V-8 engine mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The engine is FlexFuel capable, new for 2009, part of GM's commitment to offer 15 FlexFuel capable models compared to 11 in 2008. The H2 lineup also has Bluetooth phone connectivity, OnStar Destination Download, XM satellite radio with NavTraffic, and rear vision "display on demand" on the inside rearview mirror (for models not equipped with the navigation system). A limited-edition Black Chrome model will be available later in the model year. It features exterior black chrome details, including 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, grille, hood latches and handles, door handles, mirror caps, side air vents, spare tire cover emblem, body-color wheel flares, rocker moldings and hood louver.
2009 Hummer H2 SUTFor 2009, Hummer's H2 SUT, a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury pickup, is mostly carryover. However, for the new model year GM adds FlexFuel capability to its H2 models, including the H2 SUT. This means the H2 SUT can run on either ordinary gasoline or E85 ethanol, or any combination of the two. A heated steering wheel, and power-tilting steering wheel have interim availability. A Black Chrome limited-edition model, with equipment similar to that featured on the H2 SUV Black Chrome model, will be available for the H2 SUT later in the 2009 model year. The H2 SUT Black Chrome edition will also feature new-for-2009 Silver Ice Metallic, Carbon Black Metallic and Sedona Metallic.
2009 Hummer H3In other H3 news, the H3 and H3 Alpha are updated with standard Bluetooth wireless capability for hands-free calling, a front locking differential is now included with the Off-Road Adventure package, hill start assist is standard, and the rearview camera system display on the inside rearview mirror is revised to a "display on demand" system, replacing the previous mirror slide-out display.
2009 Hummer H3TWhile General Motors ponders the future of Hummer (including completely revamping the lineup, or partial or full sale of the brand) in the wave of higher gas prices and declining consumer interest in less fuel-efficient vehicles, for now the automaker plans to d_but the all-new 2009 Hummer H3T SUT. The Hummer lineage, which began with the militaristic H1, then the more-civilized H2, and followed by the H3, adds a midsize, 4-door, 5-passenger customizable pickup with separate 5-foot long bed to the lineup for 2009. Hummer says that the H3T is bigger than a midsize truck, but smaller than a full-size truck-creating its own special market niche. The new H3T is offered in five trim levels, including a 5-cylinder model and the V-8-powered H3T Alpha edition. Standard engine is the familiar 242-hp 3.7-liter I-5 with 5-speed manual transmission or optional 4-speed automatic transmission. Also available is a 300-hp, 5.3-liter V-8 engine with 4-speed automatic transmission. The H3T has standard full-time 4-wheel drive (4WD), 4-wheel disc with 4-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS), and standard 16-inch steel wheels. Optional wheel choices include 16-inch aluminum or polished aluminum.
The 2009 Hummer H3T features standard head curtain side air bags; 32-inch tires; functional skid shields; locking front and rear differential; two suspension packages (Z85 and Off-Road Adventure); OnStar and XM satellite radio; and a full list of licensed accessories. The cabin's interior is virtually identical to the H3 with premium materials and a comprehensive list of standard features. Options include a rear camera, navigation system and Bluetooth capability.
